Black Raven Brewing, Redmond, WA — Men’s Room IPA.

Black Raven Brewing, Redmond, WA — Men’s Room IPA.

A collaboration with the Men’s Room, the morning show on 99.9 KISW — Seattle’s rock station. Idaho 7 and Bravo hops, 5.8% ABV, 55 IBU.

Mango, tangerine, pineapple, and juicy fruit from the Idaho 7, Bravo grounding it with earthy tempered bitterness. Light body, tropical through the middle, clean piney finish.

And the part that matters most: a portion of every pour goes to the Fisher Houses — a charity that provides housing for veterans and their families near military medical centers. 🫡 🎖️

Raise a glass and be proud of the donation you just made. Down the Hole-a. Full review at the link in bio 🍺

Great Notion Brewing, Portland, OR — Easy Lift Wes

Great Notion Brewing, Portland, OR — Easy Lift West Coast IPA. 6.3% ABV, dry hopped with Mosaic, Cascade, and Simcoe.

Classic pine and grapefruit aromas meet red berry and pineapple flavor — the brewery’s own description, and accurate on every count. Great Notion built their reputation on hazies — soft, opaque, tropical — and Easy Lift is the deliberate counterpoint: golden, crystal clear, classically Pacific Northwest in identity and unambiguously West Coast in execution.

Cascade and Simcoe delivering the foundational pine and grapefruit aromatics, Mosaic adding red berry and tropical depth, 6.3% ABV with enough presence to support the whole hop bill. Dry, piney finish.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Richmond, VA — Dark

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Richmond, VA — Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter.

Imperial Porter, 9.2% ABV. Modeled after Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups — that’s the brewery’s own description.

A serious Virginia craft brewery making a grocery store seasonal at candy-bar concept level, and getting it exactly right. Dark chocolate malt leading with a slightly sweet Tootsie Roll-adjacent character, real peanut butter building right behind it, bold and smooth through the middle, sweet and a little boozy, medium-long warming finish that genuinely resembles the foil-wrapped Palmer peanut butter coins from the candy aisle.
At 9.2% sitting cleanly rather than announcing itself. Good enough to buy again and the right one. Available at Trader Joe’s right now, which continues to be one of the better beer aisles in the grocery store this fall. Pick it up.
