North Concord Lights
I was surprised when I arrived at North Concord for my commute to Oakland on Tuesday and made the walk from the lower parking lot to the platform. It looked much better in my opinion. No more cherry trees (I think that is what they were) at the stairs. But the big difference was during the evening, all of the lights that lined the walkway were on. ALL of them! I was surprised and it did create a bit more of a secure feeling walking to the far reaches of the parking lot.
If that was not enough, I was within viewing distance of my truck and lo and behold there is BART Police sitting at the far end of the parking lot. Not only lights, but the police! I don’t think I have ever seen this before in the years I have been riding BART out of North Concord. Not sure if this is a nightly occurrence, or just shear luck.
Regardless it was nice to see, if not for me, but all patrons who happen to use North Concord, which I understand is not the safest parking lot to walk through.
