30 Second Beer Review: California Coast Beer Company Coastal Crush

Cal Coast has built their lineup around the Central Coast’s geography and identity — beers that feel like the place that made them. Coastal Crush is the most literal expression of that philosophy yet: a pink guava and passion fruit blonde ale that puts tropical California fruit additions front and center on a grain bill of pale malt, Vienna, and wheat, with Citra and Motueka hops chosen specifically to support the fruit rather than compete with it. This isn’t a hop showcase. It’s a fruit showcase with a beer underneath it, and the brewing decisions at every stage — the grain bill, the hop selection, the Carapils for body and foam — are made in service of that concept.
