30 Second Beer Review: Harland Brewing Company Citra! Citra!
Harland Brewing describes Citra! Citra! as a love letter to their favorite hop — dosed throughout the brewing process with both American Noble Citra and traditional Citra. That dual-Citra approach is the whole story and the whole point. American Noble Citra is a newer, more refined expression of the variety — softer, more delicate, with a floral and slightly more nuanced citrus character than the assertive, juicy traditional Citra that American craft brewing has built a generation of IPAs around. By using both in the same beer, Harland gets the best of what Citra can be at every register: the bold grapefruit and tropical fruit intensity of the traditional variety and the softer floral citrus complexity of the Noble expression layering underneath it.
