WPX Weekend

Starting today (in the USA) at 5pm PDT, CQWW WPX – SSB rolls into town where operators will work as many different prefixes on each band (WARC not included). Unfortunately, I have a very common prefix, ‘W6’ but there are many others that have unique prefixes worldwide. This will give all operators a chance to work many and all contacts. For me, I am still working on my WAS (Worked All States)…hello Vermont, are you listening? I am also chasing the new ARRL Triple Play Award, where you work all states on SSB, CW and digital modes. To date I have made good progress on all three, hopefully I can fill in some missing states on SSB.

I have stated the 6th HamCAM, one of the new little gizmos here at The 6th Floor. It is an overhead shot of the ham shack (with audio) when I am at the controls. While I do work on Saturday (first day back since surgery), I will be playing radio on Friday and Saturday and hopefully putting in a few hours on Sunday after I get off work. You can check out the view at 6th HamCAM or though my host, Camstreams.com at w6onv.camstreams.com.
