Straight to the POINT
As the swallows faithfully fly back to Capistrano, id Software has released its latest and great point released, 1.29f. Some of the new features in the point release include:
– New id created pro maps
– New network code
– New auto-update system
– New rail, rocket, plasma, and lightning gun effects
– New cheating counter measures
– New protocol change to net code
– Increased versatility for user created team skins
– New model animation commands
Thanks to ShackNews for that snipet. Check out your local FTP sites for the new point release, or give FilePlanet, id Software or SpeakEasy.com for the PC release. ALSO, on issue for the Macintosh guys. It seems the new point release will ONLY work with Mac OSX. Not sure what to tell you on that. Sucks, I know.
I have begun rewriting the reviews and adjusting the scoring to take advantage of the new 6 point scoring system. You can read up on the latest reviews, which include Streets and Swim by NRGizeR, Ricochet by WetWired and Docks by BattleCow. The remaining reviews, Abbey, Revolution and Sands should be up by Friday. I am still polishing them and scoring them. Enjoy the reviews.
