What is “The WOW Factor?” It is things in a map which make you go, “WOW!!!” Received two new maps from Devlin & KAZ last night. The first being a revised version of their level, The Japanese Gardens. They have done a commendable job in applying the feedback their received from a few developer types. The level is looking quite impressive, as evidenced by these screen shots:
[Shot #1] | [Shot #2] | [Shot #3] | [Shot #4]I also had the opportunity to get an preview of their other new level, Chicago, which was featured in the
Level Editing Forum last week. While the map is not near completion, I did get a chance to check out some of the level. IT is another urban setting and will be titled The Slums of Chicago. The texturing is very slick and looks to offer some interesting game play. Hopefully we will see more development in the coming weeks. Here are a few screen shots to hold you over until then:
[Shot #1] | [Shot #2] | [Shot #3] | [Shot #4]Even MORE mapping news. Damn, looks like there are people who are actually beginning to take notice of
Urban Terror. Huh….kinda cool! After striking up a conversation with
Torquemada, we struck upon a common interest. That of the renowned “Area 51” secret military bases that the U.S. Government has no records of, yet it does exist. For more info on Area 51, check out
Dreamland Resort. Those government bastards trying to cover shit up again. Sorry about that. He is currently working on a level which will represent a portion of this nonexistent base. I was able to get him some excellent renderings of fours hangars on the base. Here are a few
early screen shots from his level.
Today’s submission for Link of the Day comes from WetWired of SID. It is an interesting little article on Raven Software’s Soldier of Fortune. Postmortem: Raven Software’s Soldier of Fortune . A solid idea and a basis for design are ALWAYS important. Thanks, WetWired!
