More maps on the horizon

Slowly but surely, we are seeing more gamers in the community getting involved in Urban Terror. Hopefully this is just a small smapling of what is to come when Beta 2 is released. Only time will tell I guess. Based on GameSpy Stats, Urban Terror is consistantly in the Top Ten Quake III mods. Of course the goal is top the chart. In due time…in due time. Another measure of the success of Urban Terror is to examine the Top Ten Most Played Maps. Interesting to note, that as of today, all but the map, Hotel are in the top ten. A testament to the mappers of Silion Ice Development. Far be from to figure wtf my stats never update under [SID]Oswald. If you know, e-mail and let me in on the conspiracy.

From the mapping front comes a level from a level called ut-canyon being created by raid. First glance brings back memories of the levels Cliff and Cliff2 from Action Quake 2. The level is created using GTKRadiant. Here are a few early screen shots from ut-canyon:

There still seems to be some confusion over what files are needed to map using QERadiant or GTKRadiant. After checking out the Tutorials/Tips, head over and download the necessary files courtesy of NRGizeR. Any questions, then post them on the Level Design Forum. There is always someone willing to help out and answer questions to get you up and running.

Today’s submission for Link of the Day comes from Apoxol of SID. He is looking to implement some new weapons for Urban Terror. Here is where his ideas are coming from. Nice Apox…
