Mad Mapping

First off, I will p1mp a new site not only hosted by the “big fuzzy“, but a site which is dedicated in part to the advancement of Urban Terror. The site is called MadMapper,which is maintained by IncredibleEdibleEgg and it carries resources dedicated to realism maps, most of which are aimed at Urban Terror. Give the site a look, especially if you are into designing levels for Urban Terror. There are some good looking prefabs and models there, with the selection growing weekly.

As we have begun to do this year, we have a new map review posted. I finally got around to deciding the fate of Gerbil! and his level, Mbase. Do not expect this level to create the kind of excitement that Urban did for Action Quake 2. All things consider, as Gerbil! points out time and time again, this map was rushed and created strictly for the Beta 1 release at QuakeCon 2000 in Mesquite, Texas. His upcoming map, Pressure Zone, is showing much more promise. But give the Review of Mbase. To be honest, I don’t see it being on many server rotations currently.

Okay, for all you QER experts out there, why is it when I select a brush I have in my map, the following error:

Q3RADIANT_202 caused an invalid page fault in module Q3RADIANT_202.EXE at 017f:0041ca40.

Pretty, isn’t it? I am lost for ideas. The only thing I have not tried which was suggested, reinstall QER2.02 and see what happens. The brush is actually a sliding door which is associated the ‘trigger_multiple’

While checking out a “rival” forum I stumbled across some really kick ass screen shots. Considering I live in a bubble and don’t venture past a handful of web sites, I had never seen nor heard of Termite Games based out of Sweden. But have a look at the screen shots of their upcoming game, New World Order. Check out the lighting effects! Quite impressive!
