Three years ago I raised my hand to show interest in helping with the haunted house. Now three years later I am in charge of the haunted house, which I call The 6th Fright. 2013 was my first attempt at designing and running the haunted house at Vintage Parkway Elementary School in Oakley, CA. Looking back on the previous 2 years I had helped, it didn’t look like it would take much to improve what had been done prior to my involvement. What I didn’t know was just how much time and money it would take to put together a good haunt.
Being this is my first year I documented many of my experiences, not only to help me but to assist others when it comes to putting together a simple haunted house. I didn’t know much going in, but thanks to resources like HalloweenForum.com, countless Internet searching and videos on You Tube I have a much better understanding of what needs to be accomplished in order to put together a successful haunt.
I have broken down my experience into a few parts based on year; Design & Layout, Construction, Rooms, and Time to Haunt. Hopefully my words will help you and I can show improvement over the years and start running a haunt of my own. Good luck and good haunting!
